The Digital Object Identifier (DOI®) System is for identifying content objects in the digital environment. DOI® names are assigned to any entity for use on digital networks. They are used to provide current information, including where they (or information about them) can be found on the Internet. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) -- what it is, how it works and why its adoption could facilitate e-commerce and Digital Rights Management (DRM).

Assigning DOIs

(Digital Object Identifier) — is an international standard for digital inforomation in the Internet.

  • We assigns every published article with a DOI. DOIs are assigned through Network of young doctors & health administrators

Why DOI is so important and how it influences the quality of scholarly publications:

  • DOI facilitates citation, search and localization of a scientific publication
  • DOI increases the quality of scholarly journals and indicates the technological advances of a publisher.
  • DOI is an integral part of scientific communication because of its purpose of easier exchange of scientific information.
  • All the journals included into Scopus, Web of Science and Springer necessarily assign DOIs to their articles.

Any DOI could be checked on DOI website: http://www.doi.org/
